There are days that split your life into before and after. Mine arrived dressed like an ordinary Tuesday.

I went in for what was supposed to be a routine ultrasound: confirm the embryo was growing, reassure me everything was on track. I even laughed when I asked if it was twins, because twins weren’t even on my radar. One embryo. One baby. Easy math.

Then the screen lit up.

Side by side were two embryos. My heart stopped doing anything resembling normal, my mind sprinted ahead of itself, and the rest of the day moved like a blur. What was meant to be a quick confirmation turned into a new reality, delivered in silence and glances and a quiet kind of disbelief.

Because one embryo transfer had somehow become two babies. And just like that, everything I planned for and everything I thought I knew, was replaced by an adventure I never expected. Exhausting. Terrifying at times. And completely, utterly unforgettable.
